An App to Support the Sexual Education of Teenagers

What should contemporary sexual education look like?
Every young person develops a natural interest in sexuality in his or her own way. Sex education should help them gain competence in social, practical, ethical and health matters. Social media and external influences in a connected world have changed the demands placed on modern knowledge transfer. There is little conversation about the growing pressure on young people and this lack of communication is based on shame and embarrassment which leads to insecurity. pal is a digital mentor for young people and accompanies them on their way to adulthood. In addition to sex education, the app also visually integrates emotional changes into the learning process in a playful way. pal hopes to build self-confidence and to facilitate a positive experience in dealing with sexuality by providing support with understanding the feelings associated and fostering acceptance of one’s own body.
