Design of a product that helps asthma patients in acute respiratory distress. The product supports physical health as well as mental health.

Asthma is a respiratory disease. In the case of acute asthmatic dyspnoea, the patient immediately needs a bronchodilator drug. Shortness of breath creates not only physical disorders, but also psychological tension and affected fears.

With the asthma spray AIR, a system is created that helps patients with medication and besides that with a calming function that is communicated via display. The colour scheme and shape are designed for a user-friendly and hand-flattering product design. The intuitive interface and simple handling of the product guarantee a safe and competent aid against dyspnoea in acute asthma emergencies. The calming function takes over the emotional support, which accompanies the patient throughout the asthma attack and reduces the extent of the physical and mental disorders. As a result, the patient experiences less helplessness. AIR thus represents both an accompanying aid and a friendly product in everyday life.
