How new forms of communication will change collaborative processes

Digital tools make it difficult to express and to sense genuine body language. This makes digital collaboration more confusing and remote work increasingly difficult. By investigating cursors in the online tool Miro, a model for the interpretation and classification of indirect digital communication channels was developed and guidelines for the implementation of displaying mouse-cursors in online collaboration tools were outlined.

These are based on a study in which digital collaboration was replicated, recorded, and analyzed by a specially developed application. From this, further solutions were developed, which enhance digital communication and thus improve the quality of online collaboration and enable better remote work.
