FREUDEN KREIS connects senior citizens without technical or digital know-how with the younger generation. Communication is made tangible through simple interaction: the length of a message that has arrived or is to be recorded is represented by the length of the textile tape, thus reducing display and interaction to a simple and charming interaction. The tape thus creates an interface for intergenerational, asynchronous communication.

The design approach of the formal language serves to create a connection between modern design and familiar objects from the seniors' youth in order to further deepen the feeling of comprehensibility. The FREUDEN KREIS is inspired by BraunDesign of the 1950s and 1960s and blends cleanly and unobtrusively into the living landscape with a contemporary approach.
